Our Story
A Legacy Built One Arena at a Time
Arena Works, Inc. began not as a business plan, but as a calling, a response to the growing demand for footing that truly understood the partnership between horse and rider.
Founder Scott Hassler first worked alongside international footing expert Herman Duckek during his tenure as Director of Training at Hilltop Farm. Under Duckek’s mentorship, Scott studied the science and art behind world-class equestrian surfaces, learning the precise balance of materials, moisture, and movement that define exceptional footing.
From that foundation, Scott developed his own performance standard, a formula refined through years of training, testing, and hands-on experience. As word spread among students and professionals impressed by the results, Arena Works, Inc. was born.
Carrying that legacy forward, Dan Henry, Scott’s nephew, now leads Arena Works as sole owner and operator. A lifelong horseman and skilled equipment operator, Dan worked side by side with Scott from the very first arena installation at Hilltop Farm in the early 1990s. His deep understanding of both horses and construction ensures that every arena continues to reflect the same precision, passion, and performance that built the Arena Works name.
